Android vs IOS Which is better?
For years the debate between Android and IOS has rumbled on and had even the best of friends at each others throats about which is better. The Coke and Pepsi of the modern day.
In this post I am going to discuss the differences between a lot of features of both phones.
Whether it be the clean, streamlined look of IOS designed more for aesthetics or the bold and colourful design of android OS, both are rather easy on the eye yet are distinctive enough to tell apart at first glance. Everyone has a personal preference and that can make it hard to jump from one Operating system to the other.
The Interface of each phone is quite different. The iPhone interface is simple and easy to use. It is easy to navigate with no hidden settings or having to navigate through folders and menus to find what you are after.
If digging through folders is your thing, then android would be great for you. The customization is almost endless with what you can change on your interface, like themes, tweaks and apps that the iPhone just can not do.
When it comes to applications, Android beats iPhone hands down. Android is open source, therefore, any developer can generate apps whereas for iPhone, Apps must be approved by Apple. For games and apps iPhone wins when it comes to running them smoothly. The only downfall is that iPhone does not let you use Flash. So as for the number of games available, Android wins.
Charging and phone protection is another big thing. You can find an iPhone case for any model in basically any Dollar store or junk shop. They are everywhere. For Android, unless you have a Samsung. That case or screen protector is going to be hard to find unless you are searching online for it.
Charging your phone: If your out and about or at a friends house then unless they have an apple charger. You are stuck.. Most Androids use the same micro USB charging cable as well as a lot of household devices, so a charging cable is always close by. A lot of Androids also have a removable battery which can be short charged by 3rd party adaptors. Very handy in an emergency.
In saying that. The iPhone charging port is compatible with a lot of other devices that Android is not. Airplay, Macbooks and USB stereo systems.
Another feature is the Fingerprint scanner of the iPhone. Yes, other phones like Samsung S5 and HTC One Max have them. But they come nowhere close to the functionality of the iPhone version. With Android you have so many more handset options to choose from. With Apple only bringing 2 phones out each year and Android bringing out well over 10, some at a very cheaper price, some users may like Apple but choose to go the Android route because of the price.
Security. 90% of hackers or known malware is targeted at Android, this is the one flaw of having an open source OS. Apple IOS is safe as the IOS is not customizable and there are passwords at every step. Phone unlocking, App Store, iCloud and Find my iPhone being the main things.
To sum everything up it comes down to what your personal preference is. For me it is iPhone. Although I live the best of both worlds with my iPhone being Jailbroken which adds a lot of the features that Android has as well as full customization of the interface.
