Lid Angle Sensor issues in Macbook Air and Macbook Pro
While replacing LCD Screen on the new Macbooks, Lid Angle Sensor needs to be either re-calibrated or a small chip transferred to the new LAS flex through micro-soldering in Macbook Air and Macbook Pro.
Lid Angle Sensor has this chip called Hall Sensor which determines if the Lid is open or closed. This chip needs to be calibrated whenever replacement or repair is done on Screen.
EFFECT on the device:-
Screen stays on/awake indefinitely even if we put the lid down and have made the changes in settings to turn off the screen after a specific time period of inactivity.
Also, Liquid or moisture damage is the most common cause of a damaged LAS.
If this is the case, your MacBook may not display anything on the screen, even when it is turned on, or the backlight may not activate at all, or it may flicker intermittently.

SOLUTION:-
There could be two solutions to this. First, either transfer the chip from the original Lid sensor flex to the newly replaced Lid flex.
Second solution could be programming it through the tools available in market such as nerd.tool.1
LAS Programmer
First solution of transferring the chip requires expertise and skill to do micro-soldering while the second solution requires buying an expensive Nerd tool programmer and spare Lid sensor flex.

COST:-
Chip transfer involves microsoldering job requiring expertise and skill, so cost goes high in terms of risk factor involved but at the same time advantage is that we can retain the same original part.
Programming with third party tool has no risk factor involved as the new Lid angle sensor(LAS) is programmed through this tool replacing the original LAS, so this solution is little cheaper.
