The difference between choosing a phone that has a huge display and is the trend right now, to choosing a phone that is right for you is really a top consumer conundrum.
If you have smaller hands you may struggle to keep a tight grip on an iPhone 6 Plus, yet you still want that big screen. Why not meet in the middle with an iPhone 6?. It is still relatively big and a wee bit easier to hold on to. But in saying that, even for someone with big hands may still struggle with the size. In our store we encounter alot more broken iPhone 6 handsets over any other model at this point in time. So yes it might be the hottest phone to have right now, but is it the right phone to have, when you’re at work, or walking down a busy street while texting; most probably not.
Bring in the iPhone 5 series. A big enough display for all your needs such as youtube, Internet broweing and emails and it’s perfectly shaped to fit in the palm of your hand. No phone is safe from the pain of a broken screen however with its metal back & side housing and a smaller screen it will stand more of a chance when it comes to a nasty drop.
Now time for the iPhone 4 series. A decent sized screen when compared to other brands of mobile phones prior to 2014. Perfectly shaped to fit into anyones hand. Nice smooth glass housing and it can still keep up with the latest apps. In most cases this iPhone is relatively inexpensive to repair as well as being a great phone to learn D.I.Y repairs on with a little research and know how. I think Apple got it right with this one, it is the perfect phone for a tradesman to use or people who are prone to dropping their phone often. It is also a great phone for children to use. They can play all their games and if kids are kids, it wont be too much of a (financial) dissapoinment when its droped in the loo, trown against a wall or dropped on tiles while reaching for some home made cookies.
Personally, my favourite iPhone is the 5s. I love the feel of it in my hand, it grips, it’s fast and has the nifty Touch ID sensor, as an active person it handles all of my needs perfectly. If I was to change two things about it I would make the screen a little wider / longer while reducing padding area, and the frame a little slimmer, perhaps I am describing the iPhone 6s mini here (hopfully) or perhaps I am stuck with a brick sized device for the next upgrade, only time will tell.
